Change of details during the year
If any of your personal details (e.g. postal address, telephone no. or email address) change during the year, we would appreciate it if you could let us know. All you have to do is click on the button below and fill in the simple online form. You can also use this form to change your preferences for receiving the Third Age Trust magazine “Third Age Matters”, and whether you would prefer to receive the Faringdon & District u3a Newsletter by email or post.
Membership Renewals
The membership year runs from January to December, and we are pleased to say that the membership fee for 2023 remains the same as last year at £12 for a single membership, and £18 for two people at the same address. You can renew your membership for 2023 either online (see below) or by filling in a paper membership form & posting it along with your payment.
Please do not pay directly into the u3a bank account using internet banking unless you are also sending in a paper membership form. (It makes the administration task much harder as it is difficult to pick up a lone membership banking transaction amongst all the other transactions).
To renew online, please click on the green button below. This year we have an improved process for renewals where you can use our Beacon Administration system to do a self-renewal. This will be a quicker & more streamlined process for you as well as saving the Membership Secretary a lot of work. On-line payments are processed securely by PayPal, but you DO NOT need a PayPal account (you use PayPal as a guest). All major credit and debit cards are accepted.
After clicking on the green renewal button below, you will get the Beacon system Portal screen. Please enter your membership number, Forename, Surname, Postcode & email address. It’s important that your name is entered as shown on last year’s membership card and is case-sensitive (e.g. Fred Bloggs and not fred bloggs). If you are renewing as joint members and claiming Gift Aid, it’s important that the person doing the renewal is the one eligible for Gift Aid. Please also ensure that you still qualify for Gift Aid.
You will then be taken to the renewal screen, and then on to the PayPal screen.
After you have paid, your renewal will be automatically processed by the Beacon system, and you will immediately receive an email with your membership card attached. We hope this will also appeal to people who currently don’t do internet banking.

New Members

You can apply as a new member at any time in the year, and you can apply by either using our online form, or by filling in a paper membership form & posting it.
In our u3a the subscription covers the admin, the insurance, the monthly meetings with speakers, the Third Age Matters magazine, our quarterly Newsletter and the Summer lunch.
All groups are expected to be self-funding and there may be refreshments, venue hire or whatever to be paid to cover costs. No u3A member will ever charge for their own services. Details may be had from individual Group Leaders.
To apply online, please click on the button below and complete the simple online form. If you wish to apply using this online form, we ask that you pay your membership fee using Internet Banking. Payment should be made to our u3a bank account ‘Faringdon University of the Third Age’, using SORT CODE: 30-93-18 and account number: 00703609. Please include your name as a reference. To apply using the online form, one member needs to have an email address, as we will send you a confirmation of your membership by email rather than a posted membership card.
