Each autumn for the last eight years I have run a six (sometimes seven) session course for those new to Family History research. We meet once a month and concentrate on aspects of research that can be done from home on the computer. We deal with Births, Marriages and Deaths, Census data,  Military Records, Newspapers and other sources as well as looking at different ways of storing and displaying your findings – paper, computer or the internet.

The latest recruits met for the first time in November and will continue to meet monthly, normally on the first Friday of the month. Meetings start at 10:00am and are held in Shrivenham – see below. If you would like to join us please get in touch.

This group is made up of those who have done the Beginners’ course or who have previously done some research into their ancestry. We meet every two months and usually start with a brief introductory talk on a previously agreed topic. The rest of the meeting is generally spent updating members of  new websites or additions to existing ones, and attempting to knock down brick walls that people have come up against. Please get in touch if you would like to join us.

Meeting for both groups are currently held at 25 Stallpits Road, Shrivenham, SN6 8BG
