GARDENERS

The Gardening Group is for people who have a love of gardening or enjoy seeing the results of other people’s efforts. Enjoy strolling in pleasant surroundings, together with a chat and a cup of tea with like -minded people at the end of the visit. During the winter months we try our hand at Garden Quizzes , maybe watch a DVD of a famous garden or enjoy a talk by a plantsman on their favourite subject or even try our hand at flower arranging. Any U3A member can attend our visits or meetings providing there are spaces. We usually meet on the third Thursday of the Month unless the places we visit are open on another day or we clash with another U3A event. During the Winter Months, meetings are either held in a Member’s house or in the Jubilee Room at the Pump House, Faringdon.

THE RHS MALVERN 3 COUNTIES SHOW 29 September 2018

This all day trip is organised by the Gardener’s Group and is open to all members.

The cost of the trip will be £32.50 which includes the return coach fare and entry to the show.

It will leave Faringdon Market place at 09.00 am on Saturday 29th September and return at approximately 5.30 pm. Separate pickups can be arranged in Park Lane (outside Travis Perkins) at 09.15 and The Barrington Arms in Shrivenham at 08.45 if required.

As well as specialist floral exhibits and plant sales, the show also has an extensive market area covering many other commodities, as well as country pursuits and cookery displays.
